Prepare and submit your application.
Apply through MonBEE. Prepare the quote and supporting documents, then keep the automatic receipt confirming that the administration has received your application.
Remember: the Region must receive your application no later than the day before the assignment starts.
Documents to prepare for your situation.
- 01
The consultant's offer
A quote valid when you apply, detailed and itemised, with the scope, price excluding VAT and dates. If it has expired, ask for a new offer.
- 02
The consultant's CV
The Region checks that the consultant is specialised in the field and has been consulting for at least two years. It may bring in an outside expert to judge their competence.
- 03
A mandate
Prepare this if someone else applies on your behalf, according to the documents requested by MonBEE.
- 04
Bank statement or bank details
The beneficiary’s bank account details for any grant payment.
- 05
Company register extract
For a provider established outside Belgium: a company register extract or other evidence of its main activities.
- 06
Proof of environmental exemplarity (optional)
Only if you are claiming that uplift. The recognition has to cover either the whole company or each of your Brussels establishment units.
- 07
Proof of social exemplarity (optional)
Include this if you claim the social uplift, with the recognition required for your business.
- 08
All the documents gathered?
Check the documents that apply to you and the uplift boxes you have selected. You can then submit your file through MyBEE, before the mission starts.
Remember : Increases are not automatic: tick the relevant boxes, even when you attach the supporting evidence.
The six deadlines that follow.
- 01
Acknowledgement of receipt
Automatic, issued by MonBEE. Until it arrives, the application has not been filed.
- 02
Incomplete file
The Region notifies the missing items within 15 days of receipt. You then have one month from that notification to complete it.
- 03
Decision
Article 19 provides for four months after receipt, or after the deadline to complete an incomplete file. An extra month is allowed if BEE appoints an external expert.
- 04
Start
The mission begins at the earliest the day after filing, and at the latest 3 months after the decision is notified.
- 05
Supporting documents
Send the payment request and the documents listed in your award decision through MyBEE within 12 months of notification of the award, as stated by BEE and MyBEE.
- 06
Payment
The Region states the amount retained, you return a debt claim, and the grant is paid in a single instalment.
Remember : This period starts when the award is notified, even if the assignment begins later. Check the deadline in your decision.

The 12 months for supporting documents run from notification of the award, according to BEE and MyBEE. Check the deadline stated in your decision.
Two commitments that outlast the project
- Staying in the Brussels Region. You must maintain an establishment unit and economic activity there for at least three years from the decision.
- The responsible digital charter. By applying, you undertake to respect its principles, including accessibility, data protection and algorithmic ethics.
Frequently asked questions
Does saving a draft count as applying?
No. MyBEE has four steps: complete, check, sign and send. Saving lets you return to the file. Keep the automatic acknowledgement after sending: it confirms that BEE has received your application.
Can my consultant apply on my behalf?
Yes, with a mandate authorising them to submit and follow the application on behalf of someone legally entitled to bind your company. The MyBEE account and itsme signature remain personal: do not share your access.
Can I start before the decision?
The BEE page allows work to start the day after filing, confirmed by the acknowledgement of receipt. You then bear the risk of refusal and the cost of the assignment. Waiting for notification of the award reduces that initial risk.
Is the grant paid as soon as it is approved?
No. You pay the costs upfront, then send the payment request and supporting documents. BEE communicates the amount retained; you return a payment claim before receiving a single payment.
Application first. Project second.
Keep the MonBEE acknowledgement of receipt before starting. Applying does not guarantee an award: if you start before the decision, you bear the risk of refusal.
